Naureen Amin Samnani North Bristol NHS Trust

I am Naureen Amin Samnani, one of the overseasurses relocated to UK in June 2019 through YDH’s recruitment. I have 15 years of nursing experience in various clinical and leadership roles and currently working as Band 5 staff Nurse in Intensive Care Unit of Southmead Hospital, North Bristol NHS Trust.

I came across several recruitment teams for UK employment however, my first attempt of interview to YDH recruitment team in Dubai has given me high inspiration and impression to continue my process with this amazing team.

The whole process of recruitment until my arrival to UK was very smooth. Indeed, very blessed and grateful to every member of the team especially Natalie Ibrahim and Samantha French, who helped tirelessly in achieving my goals of becoming UK nurse. I was warmly welcomed to UK and all process was guided and well explained.

Generally speaking, being an overseas nurse is in itself a big challenge with perceived thoughts of diverse culture, fear of discrimination, isolation and lack of recognition however, the level of support from the YDH recruitment team, NBT instructors and the ICU team has provided me with the ease to be integrated into nursing workforce.

“Thank you for all the support to all of us!

I must say the whole recruitment team is doing a great job in looking after us overseas nurses. We all feel your warmest support especially during this hard time dealing with Covid-19.”

I believe, one of the obstacles which hinders our growth is lack of initiative which I have overcome and taken every challenge as an opportunity. Fortunately, I got an opportunity to be one of the ICU Course facilitators considering my previous experience as clinical educator and conducted several simulation sessions.

Moreover, I have been offered a position of Clinical Practice Facilitator for TNA’s and Overseas Nurses, which I would be commencing soon. I can confidently say that my skills and expertise are well recognised and valued.

I am very grateful to YDH recruitment team, in fact I have referred lots of my colleagues and co-workers to this amazing team for a smooth arrival to UK. Some of them have already joined and other are in the process. A big round of applause for the wonderful YDH team. well explained.
