What it means to be an ODP?

An Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) is a vital part of the operating theatre team, who provides high standard of care to patients of all ages, at every stage of their operation. The role of an ODP allows you to provide individualised and skilled care for patients at all stages of their operation – from when they arrive in the operating theatre department, to discharge from the recovery room.

Eligibility for Interview

To be eligible for interview, you must be HCPC registered and have 12 months current experience post your qualification experience. Qualifications we accept are a BSc or Diploma in Operating Theatre and Anesthesia Technologist (this will be accepted until September 2024).

Other requirements

Candidates must score 7.0 or above for their UKVI IELTS score. UKVI IELTS can be taken as part of the application process. This is not a requirement for the interview stage.

  • On arrival to the UK you will start straight away on a Band 5 NHS salary which is £28,407 – £34,581 per annum
